Human Nature

We human are not much different from beasts.

We are greedy, selfish, cruel - all for our own gain, all in our own interests.

We are all beasts - the smarter ones who thought we ruled all other species.

But what is it that seperates us from the beasts?

We are SENTIENT beings. We question. We show concern. We are kind.

And that's all i actually care about.

Being kind.

It's the one thing that really attracts me and reaches out to me.

It shows me that selflessness does exist, that we're willing to give up a part of us to give meaning to another.

Am i kind?

Interest. We all have our own interest at heart. Well for me it's basically to do well academically and and physically. I want a good and respectable GPA to enter university and do well in DragonBoat. And i believe everyone has their own interests.

But when one threatens the interest of another for the benefit of their own. That is despicable. It boils my blood.

A group of friends baking a cake is a very good example. All of them want to bake a cake together, the best and most delicious they'll ever make. They each contribute to its production - ingredients, providing a kitchen, utensils, cutlery etc. They ended up making one of the best cakes they've ever tasted. But one of them felt that the whole cake belonged to her as the others have not provided enough to the production of it. They should get a lesser share.

Now, I won't argue about shares for in all honestly - that one individual didn't exactly "provide a lot" .

Yes, you may have an attribute or talent which another may not. But,

"In critical moments even the very powerful have need of the weakest" .

But even so, if something is good why not share it? Is there a point in giving lesser to others? Do you delight in the sorrows of others? Eating more cake makes you fatter too. (What a bad joke, I tired).

People have to learn that the world is cruel and you can't stand alone.

As human beings, we all crave for affection. Affection comes in many forms - the love between lovers, attention from others, being idolised, having a group of friends (clique) to do shit with you, your parents who love you unconditionally and many more.

There comes a point in your life where you'll realise that you actually need someone. You need someone to go through the joys, the sorrows, the excitements, the fun, the food, basically someone to be there for you. Someone whom you can exhaust yourself in. Someone to work for. Someone to care for. And to receive that love from someone else, boy, that's probably the most fulfilling feeling to ever feel. The feeling of being wanted, the feeling of being loved.

I truly crave this feeling.

Damn it, I'm only 17 !
